At the request of friend, I am going to journal our experience of having a Christmas tree and a playful but mischievous tuxedo cat with ninja-like abilities with a high prey drive who is called Kitana.

Kitana was named after Princess Kitana, a character from the Mortal Kombat game. She is a 4th generation barn cat who came to live with us at when she was 6 weeks old. She was a kitten for my senior Golden Retriever, Bailey, however she has become Kitana’s dog over the year.

I haven’t had a tree in three years due to being out of town for the holidays for two consecutive years and last year because of the fur ball of terror. This year, I’m going to get out of the comfort zone and do some thing scary.

We are going to battle the mighty Kitana for the rights of the Christmas tree and its decorations.

We bought an artificial tree last night and within five minutes of being home, Kitana knocked the box down. An hour after our arrival, she attempted to tear the box open with her teeth. The box survived the night and we will assemble the tree after after my Ogre gets home from duck hunting.
